John Hillier was my debate partner in high school, my roommate in college, the best man at my wedding, pall bearer at my baby son Brian's funeral, art mentor of my daughter, Amy, namesake of my son, John, and much more.

He is an Art Professor at Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas, and some of his art is in the permanent collection of the Longview Museum of Fine Arts in Longview, Texas.

While spending a weekend with John and his beautiful wife Gem, I got up early and took a photographic tour of the artworks in their house and his studio/workshop.

These are some of the many interesting sights I recorded that morning.      <Click here for the rest of the tour.>
